About Us

History of TheraGym

2007: Started out freelancing for other organisations in our spare time whilst serving in the armed forces.

2008: Specialised as a physiotherapist alongside primary role as a paratrooper and commando trained soldier.

2010: Started delivering our qualifications to service personnel and their families.

2014: Started delivering qualifications to service leavers, the prison service, and 16+ NEET provision learners.

2015: Partnered with a Military Preparation College to provide bespoke health and fitness qualifications to 16-24 year olds who aspired to join the armed or emergency services as part of a wider Uniformed and Public Service course.

2016: Moved in to our grade II listed Georgian building in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, Birmingham where we've remained since.

2018: Launched our Level 3 and 4 Sports Massage Therapy courses in Birmingham which have been sought after by the family and friends of happy students.

2019: Left the armed forces and began working in a private physiotherapy practice working with the general public, professional sport and celebrities. Launched our Level 3 Diploma in Gym Instructing and Personal Training combined course.

2020: In January, we began delivering the Level 3 Exercise Referral and Level 4 Low Back Pain courses. Shortly after the lockdown started, we designed, created, and launched our online courses to ensure students could continue to work towards achieving their qualification.

2022: We began delivering the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement, and Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.

2023: We were the first health and fitness industry training provider to develop a dedicated zero-cost web and app-based learning platform allowing students to access their course on their own devices when they want, where they want.

2024: Changed our name to TheraGym to better reflect our diverse health, fitness, and professional development course offering across the healthcare and fitness industry.
